My son did a report in elementary school on one of the lesser-known presidents in the late 1800's (can't remember which one...), and I remember that in the books we studied it was written that this president's mother had said to him once that poverty was 'God's punishment for laziness' (something like that). Well, I don't entirely agree with all of that point, but have found it to be a motivating thought ever since. It doesn't mean to me that if you are "lazy" you won't have money.... It's more that if you don't get yourself moving when you know you should, you will regret it. That's the "poverty" - the regretting that comes later. Barack Obama is a blessing to come along in my lifetime, a man I KNOW I cannot take for granted. So, every chance I get I make myself do what I know I should do to get this man elected. Let there not be one of us who later regrets he or she was "lazy" in the time of our opportunity to have Barack Obama elected as the leader of our nation. Let's all get moving every chance we have!

nelson - bremerton, wa said: obama is being presumptuous instead of being a presumptive nominee. well, might as well since our current commander-in-chief sucks, and the other presumptive nominee, john mcpuppet, does not speak for his campaign, according to a mccain campaign spokesman. which keeps bringing me back to the current administration, who's really calling the shots? it's been proven time and time again that bushnocchio lies, so bushzo, the idiot clown, can't be calling the shots. the safety of picking the devil we know over the devil we don't know is not as safe this time. as you all can see, john mcpuppet, the presumptive republican nominee is no where close to the john mccain, the maverick, the straighttalker, we know. if we want to preserve the status quo, then we can pick the devil we know in john mcpuppet. but if we want change, and since we can't do any worst than the status quo, taking a chance on the devil we don't know is a better pick. who wants to maintain the status quo? the first group are the people who already have the wealth and the second group are people who are waiting for the wealth to trickle down. i'm hoping that most, if not all, of these people are already in the first group because to those in the second group, i have a kinda gloomy news for you, the wealth is safely stashed offshore, and the machinery to create wealth is being outsourced. you might be waiting for the trickle down a little much longer. don't get me wrong, i agree that the government is the problem. that is why we need change, and we're in for a long, hard struggle. until we find that conscientious politician who is everything to everybody . . . no, that's being delusional! remember, as barack has mentioned, we are the ones we've been waiting for. be the change you want to be. yes we can! take care. god bless us.
